FLC’s “Traditional” 8:45 am worship service is based on the traditional liturgies found in Evangelical Lutheran Worship, the ELCA’s hymnal and service book. A semi-formal liturgy (meaning “the work of the people”) provides a framework for understanding and proclaiming our common faith in Christ.
The poetry of the scriptures (such as Revelation 5:12-14) provide the chants and songs we use weekly in our classic liturgy.
A choir and pipe organ lead the music at FLC’s Classic worship service. Hymn tunes rely primarily on classical and modern hymn traditions, with gospel and revival songs adding variety.
Worshipers are invited to receive Communion at the altar area. Gluten free wafers are available upon request. Individual cups of wine and grape juice are offered.
All are welcome to meet Christ at his table. Parents are welcome to discuss their children at communion with the pastor. Children not taking communion are invited to come and receive a blessing from the pastor.
