At the very end of the today’s Gospel reading we are confronted with a truth that is thought provoking and challenging. “No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” (Luke 16:13). We live in one of the wealthiest nations on this planet and yet too many of our fellow Americans struggle with food insecurity. Who do you serve?
Go in Peace. Serve the Lord.
Thanks be to God!
