This is our last Sunday with our interim, Pastor Marjorie. We give her our heartfelt thanks for her service to this congregation and pray for blessings on whatever comes next in her life. There will be a Reception for Pastor Marjorie in the Fellowship Hall between services today.

We will have a single, combined service for Easter this year. The service will begin with special music starting at 9:30 AM, with worship beginning at 10:00 AM.

Easter Brunch and an Easter Egg Hunt will follow immediately after the service in the Fellowship Hall.

In today’s Gospel lesson (Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32) we hear the story of the Prodigal Son. I don’t know about you, but I think I can relate to the elder son. He followed the rules. He worked hard and was obedient.

But forgiveness is hard work, too. Like the Pharisees, we want to grumble and say, “This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

How dare he! How dare he welcome sinners…like me! How dare he share a meal with me!

How dare he choose to die for me!
