This week we read again the words of Isaiah and take heart. “But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength, they shall mount up like wings of eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

In this week’s Gospel, we hear the stories of Simeon and Anna and their encounters with the child Jesus in the temple in Jerusalem. We each encounter Christ in our own way and in our own time. May we each see with our hearts, not just our eyes, praising God and looking for the promise of things to come.

On this 3rd Sunday in Advent we hear the words of John the Baptist telling those who asked who he was, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord'”.
